Caveats and Rants

| Considering that I have
finally succumbed to one of the more modern of vanities, the personal web site, this is
the place where I will attempt to explain where I am "coming from," so to speak. 1. This site will be unapologetically text-oriented. One of the most lamentable failures of modern "culture" is its increasing inability to appreciate the written word. I am certifiably "left-brained," for those who buy into that bit of psycho-babble. Consequently, whatever dribblings I produce here will doubtless be similarly directed. 2. I am politically independent. Some of my views are extremely conservative, some extremely liberal, most are moderate. In the Presidential election of 2000, I voted for Harry Brown (Libertarian) because the candidates of both major parties left me disenchanted, as do those parties themselves. In the election of 2004, I voted for John Kerry because the demonstrated excesses of the formerly conservative Republican Party were/are in dire need of control, not out of any fondness for the Democratic Party.
